Tokyopop Manga ContractI'm still not completely clear about the ins and outs of this contract. It could be another one like the new copyright law that turned out to be a big misunderstanding, but from the parts the writer quoted directly from the contract, I can see what people are upset about, and hope to spread the word out a little.

It's very long but I still think it's worth the reading, especially if you are considering to sign with them or with anyone. It's very important that you read and comprehend the contract (=_=/// college students might have went through this with off campus housing).
A shorter version of this contract would be: If this turns out well Tokyopop would have everything to do with the success, but if it doesn't turn out as expect (like lawsuits) then Tokyopop has nothing to do with it, you're on your own.
And last but not least, the writer is telling the truth when he or she said that there are so many other costless ways to start yourself out in the comic/manga industry! This is just one of many options, so never limit yourself to this one option!
